  • He finished primary school in Lubizhda, Malisheva (1976-1984)

  • Chief Inspector of the Labor Inspectorate (2020-2021)
  • Secretary General at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (2018-2020)
  • Procurement Sector Manager in the Municipality of Malisheva (2015-2017)
  • Director of the General Administration Directorate in the Municipality of Malisheva (2014-2015)
  • Human Resources Coordinator at PTK โ€“ Sales and Distribution Department (2007-2014)
  • Director of the Human Resources Department at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (2004-2007)
  • Manager of the Technical Services Department at UCCK (2002-2004)

 

POLITICAL COMMITMENTS: Mayor of the Municipality of Malisheva, elected in the elections of October 17 and November 14, 2021, proposed by the political entity NISMA Social Democratic.

LIFE/FAMILY

Ekrem Kastrati comes from a patriotic and generous family from the village of Turjakรซ.

He is a former political prisoner and sentenced to 10 years in prison (Arrested on February 2 and sentenced on December 16, 1997).

He has gone through numerous challenges in many prisons in Kosovo and Serbia, including the Dubrava prison massacre.

It is one of the first KLA cells in the Municipality of Malisheva.

Ekrem Kastrati is married and has two sons.

30.5 The Mayor, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Self-Government of Municipalities in Kosovo, is responsible for:
a ) represents the Municipality and acts on its behalf;
b ) leads the executive of the Municipality and its Administration and supervises the financial administration of the Municipality;
c ) exercises all powers that are not explicitly granted to the Municipal Assembly or its committees;
d ) executes the acts of the Municipal Assembly,
e) appoints or dismisses his/her deputies
f ) appoints and dismisses its members who assist it in carrying out its duties;
g ) organizes the work and directs the policy of the Municipality;
h ) proposes regulations or other acts for approval by the Municipal Assembly;
i ) proposes the development of the Municipality, regulatory and investment plans, proposes the annual budget for approval by the Municipal Assembly and executes the approved budget;
j ) reports to the Municipal Assembly on the economic and financial situation of the Municipality and on the implementation of the Municipality’s investment plans, at least once every six months or whenever requested by the Municipal Assembly.
k ) may request that the Municipal Assembly review a municipal act before it enters into force, when it considers that the act violates applicable legislation and/or the interests of communities.
l ) shall consult the Deputy Mayor for Communities on matters relating to the non-majority community; and
m ) Other activities assigned by the Statute.
